Rachel A. Marks is a professional artist and author who has worked in publishing for the last fifteen years as a novelist, developmental editor, published poet, and personal writing coach—as well as a book cover artist and graphic designer. Before her career in publishing, though, she spent her days homeschooling her four spunky, imaginative kiddos, leading the youth ministry and marriage ministry with her husband at their local church, and running a textile design business.
Over the years she's battled cancer and been healed, watched her children grow into amazing productive adults, adopted a few too many stray animals, and learned how to surf. But she's always held to her love of teaching and has had the wonderful privilege of organizing many writing and art workshops and classes in a variety of settings where she developed a real passion for showing others what she's learned about how to communicate ideas through artistic expression and the written word.
Her goal is to always create a spirit of community within the classroom where all students can grow individually in their God-given gifts and gain the confidence they need to succeed in whatever they set their hearts and minds to do.
