Joyful Noise: K-2nd Music Exploration

K-2nd Grades
Designed specifically for young hearts and minds, this play-based introductory class is the perfect first step for students who are curious about music but not quite ready for private lessons. No prior music experience is required!

What We’ll Explore:
  • Foundational Skills: Through games, movement, and hands-on exploration, our mini-musicians will discover essential musical building blocks like rhythm, tempo, ear training, and an introduction to music reading.
  • The Instrument Families: Throughout the year, we will introduce students to the piano, woodwind, brass, string, and percussion families. To bring these lessons to life, our amazing WFA private instructors will join the class for special live demonstrations. This gives students a unique, up-close look at different instruments!
  • Faith & Harmony: Every class includes an uplifting Bible story, connecting the joy of music to God’s love and creation.
  • The Big Stage: Students will spend a portion of class preparing a fun group performance to showcase at our end-of-the-year music recital!

Why Join? Whether your child is preparing for future private lessons or simply building a lifetime love for music appreciation, this class provides a joyful, low-pressure foundation to help them thrive in their musical journey.

Good Vibes & Grace: Group Ukulele

3rd-5th Grades | 45 Minutes
Discover the joy of making music in a fun, positive environment! The ukulele is the ultimate gateway instrument— the smaller size and soft nylon strings mean students can jump right in, offering a quick learning curve and a truly rewarding playing experience.
This class is the perfect entry point for students who want to explore music, and it builds the exact foundational skills (like rhythm, chord shapes, and finger dexterity) that make transitioning to the guitar a breeze later on.
Class Highlights:
  • Faith & Fellowship: Alongside our music making, students will spend time each week engaging in an uplifting, age-appropriate devotional, helping them connect their musical talents to God and grow together in a supportive community.
  • Explore Diverse Music: From upbeat melodies and worship songs, students will study a variety of musical styles.
  • Spring Recital Performance: Our musicians will show off their hard work, teamwork, and spirit by performing together as an ensemble in our spring recital April!
No prior musical experience is required. Come join us for good music, great friends, and praises on every string!
