Mission of DaCo

The mission of Woodland Fine Arts Academy’s Dance Company (DaCo) is to provide a safe, God-honoring environment where young artists receive focused training and development while glorifying God through excellence and hard work.

Purpose of DaCo

WFA Dance Company, founded in 2015, provides a progressive, advanced track for young dancers to train in multiple styles. Our goal is to create an environment where dancers can flourish in their gifting and passion, grow in technique and leadership, build a strong community, deepen their faith, and give back through ministry opportunities. Dancers also gain valuable performance opportunities, allowing them to showcase their growth and artistry in a variety of settings.

more about daco

DaCo is an audition-based dance company consisting of three groups, beginning in 4th grade, with placement determined by skill level, age, and emotional and social maturity. Members commit to weekly dance technique classes, in addition to DaCo choreography rehearsals.

Dancers participate in Dance Revolution (DR), a Christian-based dance convention, where they train in multiple styles under DR’s professional staff and perform alongside local studios. DaCo also performs in WFA’s Spring Showcase, at local events, and in Woodland’s worship services as a form of ministry.

In addition to these performances, DaCo dancers present their own showcase, where they perform the solos, duets, and trios they take to Earthshakers Dance Competition, along with their group pieces.

Beyond dance, DaCo is dedicated to service and outreach, engaging in projects that allow dancers to give back to their community, broaden their perspectives, and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Senior DaCo members are provided the opportunity to develop their own piece through "Senior Projects" where any DaCo dancer in, 6th grade and above, is able to audition to be part of their choreographic process and perform their piece.

Company members conclude the summer with DaCo’s Summer Intensive, a program designed to foster unity, refine technique in Ballet, Contemporary Modern, and Jazz, as well as strength, conditioning and flexibility. During this time, dancers begin learning company choreography and lay the foundation for the upcoming season. The Intensive also helps integrate new members with returning dancers while ensuring everyone gets a head start on regaining strength. Additionally, dancers are paired in a 'big/lil' mentorship with a fellow company member outside their group and age range, fostering camaraderie and support.

november 21-23, 2025

"If you are looking for an experience that leaves you inspired, motivated and ready to take on new challenges in your dance then you have come to the right place.
