dana bellew
Violin Instructor
Originally from Illinois, Dana began playing viola at age 10. She pursued music in college and studied at Illinois State University, Columbia College Chicago and Northern Illinois University. She has a Bachelors in Performing Arts Management, a Bachelors in Music Education and is trained in the Suzuki Method of string teaching. Some of her personal performance highlights include: multiple seasons with the Chicago Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, performing Handel’s Messiah at the
historic Lyric Opera House of Chicago, and sharing the stage with the classic rock band, Kansas.
As a private violin and viola teacher for the last 10 years, Dana has taught students of all ages and stages. Within a positive and supportive learning environment, she encourages students to reach for excellence and find joy at every step of the process. Her favorite thing about teaching is getting to know her students and being a part of their long-term musical journey.
Outside of teaching, Dana cherishes her time with her husband, Brandon, and two kids, Keegan and Norah. She also loves to travel, snuggle with her dogs, ride the Peloton, and serve in the kids ministry at Bayside Community Church.
Dana is super excited to be joining the WFA team and can’t wait to watch God move.
