Bristen dejarnette
Dance & Theatre Instructor
Bristen DeJarnette is a dedicated and enthusiastic dance and theater teacher with a profound passion for the arts. Her journey into the world of performing arts began at the age of seven, and she has been immersed in it ever since. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies from New College of Florida in January 2024, Bristen's extensive training spans a wide array of dance styles, showcasing her versatility and tenacity.
Bristen's love for the performing arts has always been deeply intertwined with her strong faith, which has driven her to remarkable achievements. She was cast as the lead role in the St. Augustine Winter Spectacular in 2016 and in New College’s Spring musical in 2021. As a member of the Dancelook Apprentice Program, she danced in several music videos and collaborated with renowned artists like Carlos Garland from "So You Think You Can Dance" Season 10. Bristen further honed her skills as a member of Artists Simply Human’s (ASH) The Company, traveling to over ten cities and working closely with esteemed teachers and choreographers such as CJ Salvador, Hannah Easley, Lisette Bustamante, Jojo Gomez, Braham Logan Crane, Tovaris Wilson, Mia Michaels, and Alan Bersten from "Dancing with the Stars." This extensive commercial training particularly strengthened her abilities in hip hop, a style she now loves and confidently teaches.
At Woodland Fine Arts Academy (WFA), Bristen is in her third year of teaching hip hop and is especially excited to work with the theater department this year. She loves being a part of the Woodland community and is committed to nurturing the artistic talents of her students. Bristen's warm and fun-loving personality makes her an inspiring teacher, dedicated to helping her students reach their full potential in the arts.
Outside the classroom, Bristen is celebrating her first year of marriage with her husband, Zachary, and adores her cat, Evie. Her blend of professional expertise and personable nature makes her a beloved teacher and mentor at WFA. Bristen DeJarnette is not just a teacher; she is a passionate advocate for the arts, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of performers.
