Whitney LaVoie

Art Instructor

Whitney Lavoie has been attending Woodland since 1998 and has been a teacher at Woodland Academy since its beginning in 2015, teaching students in grades 2 through 8. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Florida teaching certification. Currently, she is the Woodland Academy Middle School science and advisory teacher, where she uses specialized training in social-emotional skills to support student growth. As an experienced educator, Whitney helps her students gain essential skills through scaffolded instruction, emphasizing creativity and developing the unique gifts God gave them.

Whitney’s connection to Woodland Fine Arts Academy is both professional and personal. Her teenage son has been part of the WFA community since he was three years old, participating in art, theater, production, cartooning, and animation. Through these experiences, he has developed valuable creative skills and has found meaningful ways to grow in his faith and express his love of Christ through the arts. Seeing the positive impact WFA has had on her own family has inspired Whitney to be a part of the WFA family by teaching and supporting the next generation of creative students.
