Woodland Fine Arts Academy's Pre-K & Toddler program aims to foster an inclusive, joyfilled, safe and nurturing environment that focuses on physical development alongside emotional and social enrichment through movement classes.
benefits of MOVEMENT & MUSIC EDUCATION FOR PRE-K & toddlers
- Physical Development: Movement classes help preschoolers develop gross motor skills like running, jumping, and balancing, while music classes encourage fine motor skills through activities like clapping, drumming, or playing simple instruments.
- Coordination and Balance: Both movement and music classes promote coordination and balance, helping children gain control over their bodies and movements. Activities like dancing to different rhythms or moving to music cues enhance these skills.
- Cognitive Skills: Both movement and music classes stimulate cognitive development by engaging children in activities that require memory, attention, and problem-solving. Following instructions, memorizing sequences, and improvising movements or melodies develop cognitive flexibility and creativity.

Toddler Music & Movement

An interactive 45 minute class that explores different music in a fun, imaginative way! Students will develop their locomotive skills, directional skills and structured free play. This class will be private with only the instructor and students in the classroom.

PRE-K BALLET & CREATIVE MOVEMENT
3-5 years old
This class will introduce your child to the basics of ballet: focusing on positions, posture, self-discipline and basic locomotor movements and coordination. The creative movement portion will be about learning new ways of moving through creative games, free dance and exploring space, time, energy and body shapes. This is an excellent class for a child who could benefit from both self-discipline and spontaneity.

PRE-K BALLET & TAP
3-5 years old
Dancers will enjoy this interactive ballet and tap combination class that builds on basic ballet and tap technique. The Tap portion of the class will concentrate on rhythm, coordination, timing & building confidence through mastering more difficult patterns and steps. The ballet portion of class includes an introduction of ballet steps as well as positions in center. This exciting class is a fun way to introduce your child to dance!
